JOB TITLE: Equipment Operator: DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Parks & Recreation REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor SUMMARY: Responsible for operating equipment used in grounds maintenance and construction. Equipment includes light front deck mower, weed eater, blower, edger, chain saw, backhoe, etc. Ensures equipment is properly maintained and repaired. May occasionally operate heavy equipment. Work is performed with limited supervision. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Operates a variety of general, small, and simple equipment in the performance of landscape, parks and athletic field maintenance activities, which may include: front deck mower, weed eater, blower, edger, chain saw, backhoe, mulchers, trenchers, saws, pipe cutters, sand pro, tractors and/or other related equipment. - Performs routine preventative maintenance to applicable equipment, which may include: greasing parts, blowing out filters, checking and replacing oil, checking tire pressure, cleaning and changing spark plugs, washing and cleanin...
