Constructed in 1836, the Old State House stands as a cornerstone of our state's history and a vital cultural asset. Position Summary: The Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and stewardship of the Old State House Museum. This includes ensuring the preservation and maintenance of the historic facility, guiding daily operations, and advancing the museum's mission to collect, interpret, and present Arkansas history. Key Responsibilities: The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism has three major divisions: Arkansas State Parks, Arkansas Heritage and Arkansas Tourism. Arkansas State Parks manages 52 state parks and promotes Arkansas as a tourist destination for people around the country.
