Patient Safety Quality Consultant

Job description

Overview The Patient Safety Quality Consultant acts as a change agent with deep knowledge of complex clinical processes, clinical information systems, patient safety, project management, clinical operations, data analytics and design of clinical processes that deliver highly reliable patient care. The position supports all aspects of the Patient Safety program for University of Utah Health, including work to identify, investigate, analyze, and address factors that cause harm, pose risks to patients or which contribute to patient harm. Responsibilities also include working across the organization with physician and operational leaders, Nursing Quality Directors, Allied Health, the Departments of Risk Management and Quality, Patient Experience, Resiliency Center, Graduate Medical Education, faculty and direct service staff throughout acute care, primary care, outpatient services and academic service lines. The intent of this position is to increase the capability of the organization to provide safe care, enhance the adoption of safe clinical practices, work to embed the culture of safety throughout the organization and to develop a culture of continual learning.
