Music Literacy is a comprehensive music foundation course for elementary school students ages 6-12 that covers general music, history, and music theory, leading students to explore the world of music from multiple perspectives and showing them how the power of music connects people, communities, and cultures around the world. This course covers the history of music and music theory. Using an experiential learning method, students will be inspired through diverse and interactive musical activities. Through the exploration of history’s greatest master works, students will learn to empathize with composers and will be introduced to world cultures through music. Students will engage by feeling, imagining, understanding, expressing, analyzing, and composing music.
