Job description

Overview Horticulture Assistant to assist with multiple aspects of a grape research trial, as well as other areas of Extension. Responsibilities: The person accepting this position is responsible for assisting with the management of a table and wine grape research trial. Job duties include pruning, training, and harvesting grapes. Data collection is also an important aspect of this position. The employee may also assist with facilitating education events, horticulture crop judging at county fairs, and other field research trials. Qualifications: - Have a current driver's license for essential job responsibilities, such as driving university vehicles and transporting materials. - Willingness and ability to operate, or learn to operate, power equipment, including string trimmers, rototillers, electric pruners, tractors, etc. - Ability to pass USU Driver Training. - Attention to detail. - Ability to collect field data, including weighing fruit, and record keeping. - Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
