Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for a contract, (37.5 hours/week), Settlement Counsellor - Health Navigator in Red Deer This is a temporary position. Job Summary: The Health Navigator plays a key role in supporting newcomers, particularly government-assisted refugees and newcomers with complex health needs. Working closely with the resettlement assistance and Case Management teams, the Health Navigator assists clients in accessing, understanding, and navigating the Canadian health care system while addressing barriers related to language, culture, trauma, and social determinants of health. Job Duties: - Client Support & Navigation - Support clients to access primary care, specialists, mental health services, dental, vision, and community-based health supports - Assist clients with health card applications, IFHP coverage, appointments, referrals, and follow-ups - Provide health related orientation and education tailored to newcomer needs - Accompany clients to medical appointments when required or arrange interpretation services - Collaboration & Case Management - Work collaboratively with RAP Counselors, Case Management counselors, and other settlement staff - Part...
