Responsibilities Nocturnal Nurse Practitioners (NPs) have an important role within the OakBend Medical Group’s Hospitalist Program. Nocturnal Nurse Practitioners work with patients who may be suffering from severe illnesses or who may be in critical condition. The primary role of the Nocturnal NP is to care for patients with complex, acute conditions. Nocturnal NPs provide complex monitoring and develop multifaceted treatment plans for adults and gerontology patients. They focus on preventing future complications while improving the health of the patient. The Nocturnal NP role also extends beyond clinical practice to include administrative, teaching, and research components. Qualifications: Minimum Education: Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the State of Texas. Minimum Work Experience: At least 2 years clinical experience preferably in a hospitalist program.
