Primary Scheduled Hours: per diem Job Summary: Provides direct patient care to neonate through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the entire perioperative period. As the Circulating RN, communicates with surgeon and anesthesia provider continuously and as needed about patient condition, participates in performance improvement activities, assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met, monitors, positions, preps and assists patient during procedure. Works in the preoperative arena to include pre-op area to prepare patients for surgery by obtaining health history, starting IV’s, and giving pre-op medications as ordered. Works in the PACU recovering both phase I and phase II patients through discharge.
