Job Description Operates Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment, prepares patients for examination, and captures appropriate imaging and information for Physician review and diagnosis. Job Responsibility: 1.Prepares patient for examination. Explains procedure in layman terms to relieve any potential anxiety. Performs thorough screening of patients prior to procedure. Ensures no metal objects accompany patient into procedure room. Ensures required consent forms have been obtained. Positions patient on exam table within gantry. Utilizes position aids to improve patient comfort and image clarity. 2.Sets up equipment to administer proper procedure in a timely fashion. Calculates number of scans to be obtained, ensuring required images are obtained according to Radiologist order. Adjusts MRI equipment to capture appropriate field of view, slice thickness, pulse sequence, etc. In collaboration with Radiologist, extends parameters within established imaging protocols, if needed. 3.Administers intravenous (IV) and oral contrast agents according to Radiologist order.
