Description The Corewinder Operator will be primarily responsible for setting and operating the spiral tube winder line that winds and seals layers of paper around a mandrel with glue to make paper logs and then cuts to length to create cores. Daily work includes set-up/shutdown, adjusting mandrels, angle of ply’s, maintenance of glue pot(s) and saw (knife blade). This includes set-ups, troubleshooting and producing the paper tubes in adherence to set quality standards. This position reports directly to the Core Winding Supervisor. Schedule: This position works Monday-Thursday from 5am to 3:30pm. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: · Tends winding machine between various stages of processing, working as member of crew. · Removes spindle from dolly positions spindle in winding machine, using power hoist. · Pulls end of sheet through winder secures sheet to empty spindle, using tape. · Starts machine and regulates speed of winder to maintain even winding. · Measures, spaces, and sets blades and cutters according to product specifications. · Adjusts tension rolls on machine sets yardage counter using hand tools. · Examines material for pinholes, using magnifying glass. · Stops machin...
