Department: Emergency Room Schedule/Status: 11:00am-11:00pm; Full Time: Standard Hours/Week: 36: General Description: Under the general supervision of the Emergency Department (ED) Manager, Director of Emergency Services, Provider, and the Registered Nurse (RN), the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic is responsible for the provision of care for the assigned ED patients. This employee has access to medication storage areas, may receive, deliver and store medications. The EMT/ Paramedic participates with the RN in planning, coordinating and implementing the plan of care to ensure quality, appropriateness, timeliness and effectiveness of services rendered. Requirements: - Provide all aspects of ED care based on established standards. Demonstrate competency in all procedures within scope of practice, as appropriate to the population of patients served; the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs; a knowledge of growth and development; and an understanding of the range of treatment needed by these patients. - Order and stock supplies for the department. - Set up and assist in special procedures for the providers and nurses, including obta...
