Psychiatric Nursing Asst I - Medicine Psychiatric Inpatient Unit (3BT) - 100% - ( 26002241 ) Description University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking Psychiatric Nursing Assistants to perform specific tasks to assist members of the Nursing team in providing patient care under the direct supervision of Registered Nurses. Medicine Psychiatric Inpatient Unit (3BT): This Unit is a 15-bed secure unit that serves adult patients who have acute physical illnesses in conjunction with an acute psychiatric disorder. 3BT is one of only a few such specialized medical/psychiatric units in the country. Position Responsibilities: Interacts with patients, visitors and other health care professionals in an effective manner and maintains positive, cooperative professional relationships. Communicates with patients in a respectful, therapeutic, recovery-oriented manner. Establishes therapeutic relationship while caring for patient and terminates the relationship when the patient is discharged.
