Position: Mobile Heavy Equipment & Diesel Mechanic Type: Full-time: Location: Virginia Beach, VA: Travel: 10%: **Contingent Upon Award** Position Summary: The Mobile Heavy Equipment & Diesel Mechanic is responsible for performing advanced maintenance and repair of automotive, heavy truck, construction, and diesel powered equipment in both shop and field environments. This role executes all levels of corrective and preventive maintenance with minimal supervision and ensures mission readiness of NSW ground assets. The mechanic documents all maintenance actions in the Fleet Focus system and supports expeditionary and contingency maintenance requirements as directed. Duties and Responsibilities: - Perform all levels of maintenance on heavy trucks, CESE, and diesel equipment - Diagnose and repair suspension, steering, brakes, drivetrain, and powertrain systems - Conduct tire mounting, balancing, and replacement - Perform welding, metal work, and minor fabrication - Support field and expeditionary maintenance operations - Operate Government vehicles in the performance of maintenance duties - Document labor, parts, and repairs in Fleet Focus - Follow OEM guidance, NAVFAC P300/P480, and NS...
