Job description

Downer is seeking an experienced Project Manager based in either Townsville or Mackay who will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of multiple asphalt and spray seal projects, managing time, cost, quality, safety and stakeholder expectations across North Queensland. This role plays a key part in driving Downer’s Zero Harm culture and strengthening relationships with clients, suppliers and government partners. Flexibility with travel is a must! KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Lead day‑to‑day depot operations to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards. - Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasting and financial reporting. - Plan and coordinate labour, plant, and materials effectively across projects. - Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and government stakeholders. - Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to supervisors and operational teams. - Drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and efficiency initiatives. - Contribute to organisational planning, strategy, and market growth objectives. - Champion a Zero Harm culture, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and fatig...
