Overview Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. To support the mission of Helio Health, the Peer Specialist - Syracuse Crisis Intervention and Prevention Program assists individuals in recovery with regaining independence in their communities and sustaining their own recovery and improving their overall health. The Peer Specialist will work on a Full-Time basis out of Helio Health’s Syracuse Crisis Intervention Prevention Program. "The SCIPP Program works closely with members of the law enforcement community and responds to individuals experiencing acute behavioral health crises. This includes participating in clinician/peer ride-alongs with specially trained officers, responding to 911 Diversion calls, and answering direct crisis calls from individuals within the City of Syracuse. SCIPP peers also play a vital role in overdose prevention efforts, including outreach to individuals who have recently experienced an overdose to offer support and facilitate connection to treatment.
