Universal Field Robots - A Sandvik Company Mechanical Engineer – Eagle Farm, Qld About the opportunity: We’re looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to design and integrate advanced automation solutions for heavy machinery typically in the mining industry. You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end mechanical design process, from concept development and CAD modelling to prototyping, testing, and deployment. You’ll work on mechanical systems that support perception, control, and autonomous navigation, collaborating closely with robotics and software teams. Responsibilities: ·Design robust attachments along with mechanical systems that support perception, control, and autonomous navigation technologies. ·Develop detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and specifications. ·Perform detailed engineering analysis to ensure reliability and performance in harsh environments. ·Support the full product lifecycle, including design reviews, documentation, manufacturing, deployment and ongoing support. ·Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electronics, sensors, and software. ·Understand customer and project requirements. ·Support the installatio...
