Position Overview: - Department: 3 South, Med/Surg - Schedule: Full Time Nights, 3 - 12 hour shifts per week, 7pm -7am - Work Location: UAB St Vincent's Birmingham - Benefits for eligible positions only include: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more What You Will Do: Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision. - Assist patients with ambulation as necessary. This may include helping them to a recliner in their room, walk to the bathroom or down the hall. Assist dismissed patients in getting safely to their vehicles. - Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living. - Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records. - Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment. - Performs certain technical patient care duties in the hospital as directed by the staff nurse such as oxygen setup, foley catheter care, pulse oximetry setup, specimen collection and EKGs. - Obtain and record vitals, weight, and inputs and outputs. - Perform other duties as assigned.
