Job description

The Endoscopy Technician is a multi-task position that is expected to schedule procedures, perform computer data entry for ph studies, and assist in the procedure room. The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for all task-based Gastroenterology activities. Endoscopy activities include but are not limited to cleaning and disinfecting scopes, preparing equipment for sterilization, preparing scopes for repair, tracking repair, procedure room set up, maintaining disinfection logs, maintaining supplies needed for procedures rooms, dirty utility room, and clean utility room, and assisting the nurse with patient admission to the procedure room. The technician has basic knowledge of equipment for troubleshooting equipment problems. The Endoscopy Technician is accountable for demonstrating knowledge of principles and practice of aseptic techniques, and all quality assurance activities related to infection control and disinfection/sterilization of endoscopic equipment.
