Newport News, Virginia Location: Newport News, VA (not eligible for remote work) Overview: The Network Security Engineer I plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network security solutions, utilizing industry-leading technologies and technology vendors. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience working with multiple technology vendors, methodologies, and approaches. Conducts and analyzes vulnerability scans (hosts and network) and performs network security threat/impact assessments. The candidate will report to the Chief Information Security Officer and will participate in daily operational needs as well as strategic projects for the health system. What you will do: - Conduct and analyze vulnerability scans (hosts and network). - Perform network security threat/impact assessments. - Oversee host-based security across the Health System to include: antivirus, HIPS, data loss prevention, and rogue system detection. - Respond to malware reports and assist in implementing protective/anti-malware measures. - Enforce computer and network security processes. - Confer with management, technical staff, and end-users to define requirements for...
