Press Brake Operator

Job description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Operate CNC Press Brake under minimal supervision. May operate manual press brake on occasion. - Run bend and forming operations using standard and custom dies or punches if needed. - Check heights, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges, or other precision-measuring instruments. - Work within tight tolerances. - Review work with Lead to ensure job is performed correctly and meets requirements. - Perform spot inspections of parts to ensure they are within tolerance. - Configure bend allowances for metal (stainless, aluminum, and regular steel). - Become familiar with blueprints and parts-layouts (“stretch-outs”) and refer to project lead to ensure accuracy of part dimensions and requirements. - Check machine for defects and inform supervisor as necessary. - Ensure machine is calibrated and cleaned. - Read drawings and blueprints. - Keep set-up time to a minimum within confines of given press brake. - Calculate the tonnage required to form a part before making the first bend when bottom-bending or coining. - Maintain clean and safe working area. - Follow safety rules and maintain a safe working environment. - Obtain corre...
