Job description

QUALIFICATIONS: Technologist must be registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). Maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE: Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens, frequent exposure to chemical hazards and may encounter radiation hazards. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Reviews and interprets physician order for the diagnostic x-ray procedure accurately. 2. Validates all patient identification before performing any diagnostic x-ray procedure accurately. 3. Communicate with patients to obtain medical history and/or specific medical information that is pertinent to the procedure and/or patient’s well-being during the procedure. 4. Validate proper working conditions and technical factors of all imaging equipment and procedure room. 5. Explain procedure to patients to facilitate patient cooperation and alleviate patient anxiety; ensures patient comfort and safety. 6. Assumes responsibility for patient care during the imaging procedure to include infection control. 7.
