Title: Temporary- Campus Police Officer (Pool) Institution: Volunteer State Community College: Job Summary: Enforce the state, local and federal laws; enforce college policies and procedures; and provide a variety of security and enforcement services that promotes and maintains a safe campus. Job Duties: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Promote lawful behavior and protect the welfare of students, faculty, staff and visitors as a uniformed presence on campus. Perform foot and vehicle patrols to monitor behavior, secure buildings and property, maintain order during events and enforce policies, laws and ordinances. Seeks solution to possible problem before event occurs. Responds to radio dispatches and answers calls and complaints. Respond to emergency calls and alarms and assists in determining the cause or origin of an emergency. Assist and/or direct securing an area and containing any emergency situation.
