Job description
The Manning College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Boston seeks applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Gerontology to begin on September 1, 2026. Research focus is open, with preference given to research expertise at the intersection of AGING AND HEALTH DISPARITIES related to COGNITIVE AGING AND DEMENTIA, ECONOMICS AND RETIREMENT, SPATIAL METHODS AND THE SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH, and AI AND DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS. Outstanding candidates with other research interests will be considered as well. Research expectations: The successful candidate is expected to have the potential or history of securing substantial external funding and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. The person who fills this position will be a Fellow in the Gerontology Institute at UMass Boston and may also have an affiliation with the Center for Social and Demographic Research in Aging and the LeadingAge LTSS Center, both located within the Gerontology Institute.
