Job Description The Division of Disease Control's mission is to safeguard the health of New Yorkers through identification, surveillance, treatment, control, and prevention of infectious diseases, which is achieved through varied and interrelated endeavors of its seven Bureaus. The New York City (NYC) Bureau of Tuberculosis Control (BTBC) aims to prevent the spread of tuberculosis (TB) and eliminate it as a public health problem in NYC. The Bureau of TB Control is seeking a City Medical Specialist. They will report to the Director of Medical Affairs and will see patients in the TB clinics, perform medical consultation, participate in case management and contact investigation teams. DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO: English/Chinese (all dialects) and/or English/Spanish or any other second language would be considered. - Performing histories and physicals, evaluating laboratory and microbiologic data and x-rays and other radiological studies to determine if a patient needs treatment for tuberculosis. - Supervising or formulating medical treatments and interventions, including complex regimens for patients with drug resistant and multidrug resistant TB. - Monitoring and ensur...
