ABOUT THE ROLE: We are seeking a Waste Management Specialist to join our team supporting the Y-12 National Security Complex ! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee Responsibilities: Perform duties in support of the Waste Management Program. Prepare documentation to support waste management and operations of waste and weapon components. Provide support to Process Engineering through review of programmatic weapon procedures for proper waste accumulation and processing. Provide support to Subcontractor Construction Management through completion of characterization documents including approval of Construction Waste Management Plans. Support subcontractor personnel in proper waste management practices. Provide support of assessments/audits (both internal and external) of Waste Management Program. Develop/revise procedures as needed to assure continuity of operations and provide process improvement. Requirements: Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, a scientific discipline, or related technical field and 5+ years of relevant experience in waste management, environmental compliance, or waste transportation.
