Job Title: Locomotive Technician (Electrical) Location: Port Talbot, South Wales: Department: Central Engineering Shop: Salary: £34,198 + 12.5% shift allowance plus Benefits Closing Date: Wednesday 20th May 2026 The shift pattern is involved working 1 weekend in 3 as follows, 7 days on, 2 days off, then 3 days on, 2 days off, finally 5 days on then 2 days off, this is then repeated. What you will do: We are currently looking to recruit a multi skilled (electrical bias) craftsperson for our Diesel Loco Repair Shop, Central Engineering, Port Talbot. The incumbent of the role will undertake electrical inspection and maintenance work associated with a fleet of shunter locomotives but will be expected to support other team members when required. There are 19 locomotives within the fleet of varying types from diesel electric to the latest hybrid technology.
