Job description
The Transmission Operations department is seeking to hire a Mechanic B (WELDER) to support the department by using knowledge of welding, reading blueprints, and electrical schematics to perform routine welding procedures. Core Responsibilities: - Mechanic B's are responsible for using blueprints, sketches, and electrical schematics to perform welding procedures. - Mechanic B's are responsible for welding pressure piping and utilizing oxygen/acetylene cutting on steel plates/piping. - Mechanic B's will perform welding procedures on electrical systems in enclosed spaces. - Mechanic B's will utilize hand/power tools to perform maintenance as needed. - Mechanic B's troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment. Required Education/Experience: - High School Diploma/GED and at least 4 years of relevant work experience as a welder with experience reading/understanding welding procedures, reading blueprints, sketches, and electrical schematics Relevant Work Experience: - Experience reading blueprints, sketches, and or electrical schematics. - Experience working with hand and power tools. - Qualification in ASME B31.1 and API 1104 codes using shielded metal arc welding and gas tungsten ar...
