Full-time (80 hours biweekly) Weekdays, evening shift; 3 pm to 11:30 pm Some weekends as needed: General Summary: Provides supervision of the daily operations and work activities of professional nursing and ancillary services staff on assigned unit. Able to support ongoing operations of department/unit independently as needed. Provides direct patient care as required. Essential Functions: - In the absence of the Nurse Manager (NM), the Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) assumes roles and responsibilities of the NM or applicable “one up” position. - Works to support adequate staffing levels and skill mix are maintained for all shifts through the development, preparation and maintenance of staffing schedules that meet department/unit needs and apply to variable census conditions. Makes appropriate adjustments/assignments to maximize timely patient care. Looks to staffing needs into the next matrix. - Oversees the delivery of patient care. Directs and delegates patient care assignments to staff based on acuteness of patient care needs, staff availability and patient safety. - Ensures current competency of all staff and confirms staff compliance with regulatory requirements. - Serves in cha...
