Job description

Description The Speech-Language Pathologist will: - Utilize the speech-language pathology process to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care across the inpatient unit, swing bed program, and community-based diagnostic services. - Provide individualized evaluation and treatment for patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, developing and implementing tailored care plans that promote safety, functional independence, and quality of life. - Evaluate patients recovering from surgery, trauma, neurological events, or acute illness, with a particular emphasis on dysphagia management, including the completion and interpretation of modified barium swallow studies for both inpatient and community-referred patients. Treatment may also address speech, language, voice, and cognitive-communication deficits as appropriate to each patient’s needs. - Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation and medical team to provide direct therapy, patient and family education, and clinical recommendations to support optimal outcomes. - Include thorough documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, and patient progress, as well as ongoing communication with pr...
