Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Summer Intern – Parts & Service in Chesapeake, Virginia. The Summer Intern – Parts & Service rotates through the Parts Warehouse and Parts Counter, Reconditioning Center, Oil Lab, and Used Parts departments observing, learning, and performing various tasks while under the direction of experienced personnel from June through early August. There are opportunities to travel to other Carter locations to gain an understanding of how a CAT dealership operations. Seeking candidates with enrollment in a Mechanical Votech, post-secondary diesel, or related program, or one year of mechanical job experience, preferred; Some college in business or industry-related field. Requirements for the Summer Intern – Parts & Service position include: Physical requirements must be met for the Summer Intern – Parts & Service job, including regularly being required to sit and talk or hear.
