Description People's Health Center - 2340 East 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46201 The Psychiatrist provides a psychiatric assessment as part of the evaluation process. The evaluation should include assessment for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders that affect the patient’s health and well-being. This position will also provide continual psychiatric support to clients at various stages in the program as needed including intake, ongoing care, and follow-up after inpatient care. Direct Patient Care and Consultation: - Evaluates patients for mental, emotional or psychiatric disorders. - Focuses on correct diagnosis using history, physical exam, and diagnostic testing (psychological testing such as depression and anxiety screens and laboratory testing) as indicated. - Provides care with appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment as indicated for each individual patient. - Completes medical records and documents reports to support recommendations in accordance with HealthNet’s medical records policy. - Makes appropriate referrals for both psychiatric and non-psychiatric medical care as necessary. - Provides clinical consultation to other HealthNet primary care,...
