Splicing Technician SUMMARY: Mortenson is currently seeking a Structured Cabling Technician that will be responsible for providing skilled craftsmanship for maintenance and installation of low voltage electrical systems. RESPONSIBILITIES: - • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools - Complete physical installations of structured cabling components, cabinets, pathway systems (cable tray), move equipment, racks, and related communications infrastructure materials. - Perform installation and service of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling, communication equipment and other various low voltage related systems such as Enhanced Category 5, Category 6 and Fiber Optic Structured Cable Distribution Systems. - Perform precise fusion splicing of high strand count fiber optic cables (including mass fusion techniques) While maintaining low loss performance and industry standard quality control. - Conduct fiber testing, troubleshooting, and documentation using tools such as OTDR, power meters, and inspection scopes to ensure proper installation and...
