Amentum is seeking a Utilities Infrastructure Technician in the Williamsburg area. The Utilities Infrastructure Technician provides critical ground-level support for overhead and underground power systems while assisting in the operation and maintenance of medium voltage (up to 13.2 kV) switchgear and controls. This hybrid role requires a unique blend of physical stamina for field line work and technical proficiency for troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and shop-based electrical repairs. Core Responsibilities: - Line & Infrastructure Support: Assist electrical lineman in the installation and repair of overhead and underground transmission systems. Tasks include digging trenches/pole holes, framing poles, pulling wire, and "grounding" systems safely. - Medium Voltage (MV) Operations: Operate and maintain MV switchgear, generators, transformers, and controllers. Connect electrical cables and perform "meagering" of cables to ensure insulation integrity. - Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose malfunctions in electrical systems using blueprints, layouts, and standard computations.
