CBE Instructional Designer

Job description

The University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) is seeking a CBE Instructional Designer to support faculty in creating high-quality, accessible, and inclusive learning experiences, with a focus on YourPace, UMPI’s online competency-based education program. This role partners with full- and part-time faculty to design authentic, evidence-informed courses, align outcomes and assessments, and develop engaging digital content. The Instructional Designer also supports continuous improvement initiatives, accessibility enhancements, faculty training, and community-building for remote instructors. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment, communicates effectively across diverse faculty populations, manages multiple projects, and leverages instructional technology to enhance learning. This role plays a key part in enabling faculty success, strengthening course quality, and supporting the growth and impact of UMPI’s YourPace program. This is a fully remote position requiring reliable internet and a distraction-free home workspace.
