Description SUMMARY: The Maintenance Automation Technician in a can filling manufacturing facility is a critical role responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of automated machinery used in the production and packaging of canned products. This position involves maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing the automation systems to minimize downtime and maximize production output. Works closely with the maintenance team, production personnel, and engineering staff to ensure the facility's automation systems are operating at peak performance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Read and understand electrical drawings, parts drawings, P&IDs, and ladder logic diagrams - Troubleshoot non-functioning components including PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and control components - Troubleshoot process issues in existing PLC code - Perform routine diagnostic checks and inspections of automation equipment for defects or malfunctions - Update P&IDs, electrical drawings and other engineering documentation as needed - Identify, develop, and implement improvements to increase capacity, efficiency and/or quality for existing automated processes - Improve existing preventativ...
