Your job is more than a job. This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this department. GENERAL DUTIES: Performance of Venipuncture and Skin Puncture: - Performs venipuncture and skin puncture in accordance with department SOP. Workload Management: - Adheres to SOP in the use of handheld devices for specimen collection for patient. - Monitors collection list and document status of outstanding collections where specimens are not collected. Specimen Pick Up and Delivery: - Ensures that STAT specimens are delivered to the Lab within 15 minutes of collection or pick up. Specimen Handling and Receipt: - Ensures that specimens are updated to receive status and correct data is reflected in terms of collect date/time and receipt date/time. - Delivers to the appropriate Lab Section immediately upon receipt.
