Job description

The Tooling Engineer is an SBU role responsible for power tools, hand tooling, ergo arms, fixtures and miscellaneous production and maintenance equipment in a designated area of the assembly plant. This includes issuing requisitions for the work, following up with a PO and then coordinating the work with the management team. The role will work with Maintenance daily to put together Maintenance Work Orders (MWO's) and the ordering of the required materials to complete them, and following up on materials to make sure PO is issued, material received and delivered to the appropriate trades performing the work. The role will assist in shipping materials to other plants or suppliers as required and achieve the required number of targets such as Kaizen projects, MPI's and Safety tags each year. The Tooling Engineer will send out equipment for repairs and/or warranty and project detail sheets and justification for Non-New Model and for 5-year capital plan projects. The role will prepare Scope of Work (SOW) for major projects, Pre-bid meetings and capture minutes for major projects.
