Description Main Purpose: The Purchasing Agent locates and acquires parts, materials and / or services, with consideration to price, conformance to specification requirements and delivery that satisfies schedule requirements, to promote the production of generator enclosures. Essential Functions: - Review sales orders, bill of materials (BOM), drawings and / or purchase requisitions to determine requirements for parts, materials and / or services. - Send inquires to vendors requesting quotes for materials, parts and / or services - Compile and analyze returned quotes, selecting the best quote with consideration to price, conformance to specification requirements and delivery timetable - Makes final purchasing decision based on experience and discretion - Prepare and issue purchase order and obtain confirmation of order from the selected vendor - Manage the budget and search for continuous cost reductions - Coordinate with other departments to ensure the timely purchase of enclosure materials and parts - Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, compiling and organizing documentation of all correspondence with vendors - Negotiate corrective actions with suppliers for non-conf...
