POSITION SUMMARY : An optician, or eyewear consultant, plays a key role in helping patients achieve optimal vision by educating them on doctor recommendations and guiding them in selecting lenses suited to their prescription. In addition to expert advice, the eyewear consultant creates an enjoyable shopping experience with a curated selection of fashionable frames. Strong communication skills and the ability to build lasting patient relationships are essential. The consultant also maintains merchandise displays and manages inventory in the retail space. This role blends administrative and creative duties—calculating co-pays based on insurance eligibility, preparing optical lab work orders, and merchandising eyewear products.
