Job description

The Lead Medical Assistant is responsible for actively coordinating and organizing an efficient clinic workflow for an in-person person and/ or telemedicine visits across care practice area(s). This position will monitor and resolve potential scheduling issues or complaints during clinic/unit hours. The Lead MA is responsible for the orientation, precepting/onboarding of new staff, and monitoring the staff competencies. This position will act as the lead to all the Medical Assistant staff, and ensures that all staff adheres to hospital policies, procedures, and operational workflows. The Lead Medical Assistant is responsible in ensuring that policies, procedures, and operational workflows are followed. Responsible for clinic supply ordering. The Lead Medical Assistant is responsible for performing all in-person or telemedicine intakes as defined by operational procedure, obtains and appropriately records patient vital signs/medication list, monitors patient flow, assists physicians with minor clinical procedures as defined by scope of practice, prepares patient chart with pertinent medical information.
