Overview Company: HarperCollins Canada: Job Title: Production Editor: Department(s): Creative Operations: Reports to: Asst Mgr, Prod Editorial Status: Regular full time: Location: 22 Adelaide St W., Toronto (hybrid model) Job Vacancy Status: Vacant and actively accepting applications HarperCollins is currently seeking a Production Editor in the Harlequin imprint group to assist in the production editorial process on a wide variety of titles, both fiction and nonfiction, representing a broad and diverse collection of voices, cultures, and perspectives. Responsibilities: Specifically, the Production Editor handles production editorial work from manuscript through bound book for a variety of formats, including novels, and nonfiction titles across varied genres and subject matter. - Assesses and styles manuscripts using proprietary Microsoft Word and Harper’s proprietary software, for copyediting, design, and composition. - Hires freelance copy editors and indexers, and oversees their work. - Collates and processes proofreads and slugs in Adobe Acrobat, and checks all stages of proofs and PDFs, for interiors. - Copyedits flap and back cover copy and proofreads and checks all stages of...
