Social Worker II at PGCPS - ( 260000X4 ) Description This is a grant-sponsored role in collaboration with Prince George's County Public Schools. This position will support 4 school based health centers in the Prince George's County Public Schools, 3 high schools and 1 middle school. Time will be split between the schools. The social worker will collaborate with health center staff and school staff. The social worker will provide crisis intervention and other mental health support and refer to community services when appropriate . (The Social Worker II fosters positive and professional interpersonal relationships with patients/families, physicians, hospital staff, community agency representatives and visitors, provides comprehensive psychosocial assessment for identified patients and based on findings, facilitates interventions. Effectively uses interpersonal communication skills to resolve conflicts and promote a healing environment. Demonstrates leadership and advanced clinical practice by mentoring junior staff, educating social work students and staff, medical/nursing providers on a range of topics that impact patient and family coping, communication, family dynamics, de-escalat...
