Overview UIC Science is seeking an on-call Field Support Technician in Atqasuk, Alasak to provide hands-on support for field research and operational activities in remote Arctic environments. The Field Support Technician will assist with preparing, transporting, and maintaining field equipment; collecting samples and data; and supporting logistics for scientific projects. Responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with safety standards, maintaining accurate field records, and working collaboratively with scientists, project staff, and community stakeholders. This position requires adaptability, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in challenging environmental conditions. Responsibilities: Essential functions will include: Support UIC Science field operations during peak season. Perform maintenance and repair of field equipment and vehicles. Provide general support for field research and logistics activities. Work collaboratively as part of a team to accomplish project goals. Maintain accurate records, logs, and field notes.
