RN Medical Oncology Job Description: The Oncology Nurse Specialist is an experienced RN responsible for managing the oncology provider’s patient caseload and coordinating care across the Cancer Center. This role serves as the primary liaison between the provider, interdisciplinary team and patients, ensuring seamless communication, treatment coordination, and continuity of care. With a higher level of responsibility and autonomy, the Oncology Nurse Specialist provides advanced clinical coordination, patient education, symptom triage and care navigation throughout the cancer care continuum. The RN collaborates with infusion nursing, pharmacy and supportive services to optimize patient outcomes and experience and participates in required medical surveillance related to hazardous drug exposure.
