JOB SUMMARY: The Permit Technician is responsible for processing and issuing various City related permits in compliance with local regulations and building codes. This role involves working closely with contractors and property owners to ensure all required documentation is accurate and complete. The technician will also provide information on permitting processes, assist with permit applications, and maintain detailed records. Additionally, the position requires coordination with various departments to ensure timely approvals and inspections for construction and renovation projects. Strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and a solid understanding of building codes and permitting software are essential. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, along with two years of experience in a building or planning department, including six months of experience in processing computerized building permit applications; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
