Job description

The City of Aurora is accepting applications and has opened testing to establish an eligibility list for the position of Court Detention Technician (non-sworn) in the Police Department. Under the supervision of the Court Detention Supervisors, the Court Detention Technician performs a variety of law enforcement support duties in a municipal corrections environment. Duties of this position may include but are not limited to: Process (book) prisoners - fingerprinting, photographing, completing departmental forms, and assisting sworn police officers, as necessary; Monitor and provide security for prisoners in the jail and at bond calls; Prepare prisoners for transfers to other correctional facilities; Provide support for sworn personnel and assisting in related or assigned duties, as necessary; Assist with building security; Testify in court proceedings as needed; Communicate and maintain a positive working relationship with all other bureaus and divisions within the Police Department.
