Job description

Designs, reviews, evaluates, validates, implements and maintains laboratory technical and quality procedures. Consults with users and develops requirements for new or enhanced assays and systems and creates specifications and recommendations. Ensures adherence to technical processes and procedures. Management Scope: Oversees section quality management activities. May supervise professional, technical, and administrative personnel involved in the development of new and/or maintenance and operation of existing laboratory technical and quality operations. Designs, reviews, evaluates, validates, and implements new analytical methods and quality control/quality assurance programs; assesses user needs, develops technical strategies and goals. Maintains laboratory technical and quality procedures; monitors laboratory services for technical compliance with national accreditation standards. Troubleshoots technical and quality performance issues related to casework, instrumentation, and laboratory processes to identify resolution or opportunities for process improvement.
