Job Description As a member of the Childcare team, the Registered Early Childhood Educator is responsible for providing care and educational programs for young children. The Registered ECE must be committed to the philosophy of the Childcare Centre and its mandate to provide flexible childcare services. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in accordance with the Centre's philosophy. - Provide a daily balance of active/quiet, indoor/outdoor individual/group child/teacher initiated activities. - Establish and carry out daily schedule that incorporates child- directed activity, care routines and transition times. - Organize the learning equipment prior to activities. - Assist children in expressing themselves by engaging in meaningful dialogue and interactions including listening and responding with questions or comments that extend conversations. - Use a variety of teaching techniques including modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating and reinforcing.
