Medication Aide (WA) POSITION SUMMARY: The Medication Aide helps create a joyful & vibrant community by caring for residents and administering and/or assisting with the self-administration of routine and non-routine and non-injectable medications by oral, rectal, or topical means in accordance with physician orders and nursing practices as directed by the Director of Nursing Services. ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES: - Performs various tasks assigned by the Director of Nursing Services including vital signs, residents' weights, applying creams/ointments, collecting specimens, as well as lifting, moving, and transporting residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention as directed by the Director of Nursing where State Nursing Regulations authorize such delegation. - Maintains accurate record of medications and treatments administered or omitted on each resident’s clinical record to include the reason medication was omitted or prn medication was given. - Records narcotics administered or received on the appropriate controlled drug count sheet, reporting all medication errors immediately. - Reports and records changes in resident conditions, incident and ac...
