Job description

Position Function: The Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine has an immediate opening for a tenure track faculty position in Small Animal Internal Medicine. Teaching responsibilities involve didactic teaching and clinical training of professional students, interns, residents, and graduate students. Service responsibilities involve clinical case management, rotating emergency duty, and consultation with private practitioners. Clinical duties in the Small Animal Medicine service will be shared with four other faculty members. The service currently has three residents enrolled in an ACVIM-approved three-year combined residency and thesis-driven master’s program. Participation in the college’s continuing education and clinical research program is strongly encouraged, as is the development of a specific area of clinical and research focus and expertise. External grant acquisition and supervision of postgraduate degree students is encouraged and supported, and initial funding is available to support the development of research initiatives.
